KMA: teaming up with the competition

It’s time to kick Monday’s ass…

How in the hell is it already almost July?

And how have the last few months managed to drag out until eternity and also pass in the blink of an eye.

(I’m sure it has nothing to do with me watching every show in my Netflix and Hulu queues from start to finish.)

That Vikings cliffhanger? Made me want to burn everything down.

It’s definitely been a challenge… how do you keep things new and fresh when the scenery never changes? I totally understand the cabin fever bug that has most folks in my state (Texas) LOSING THEIR GAHT DAMN MINDS.

For me, I’ll continue holding down the fort in my tiny townhouse, working (pulling a lot more weeds than I hoped for) in my garden, taking too many photos of my cat, and growing my business.

“I’ve wanted to expand into the broader XXXXX field — but it’s already DRENCHED in competition.”

I hear this a lot on coaching calls with my students… but what about the competition?

We hear a lot about the C-word as entrepreneurs – and often we’re encouraged to “crush” the competition or otherwise be adversarial with them.

Makes sense on the surface, since at first glance it appears that money that goes to them is money not coming to you.

But here’s the thing – my business grew exponentially when I “partnered up” with the competition vs trying to constantly outmaneuver them.

Here’s what I mean…

(here’s a link to the video in case you don’t see it embedded below)

Treating them as colleagues (not competition) has made all the difference in my business.
The main point? You can fight over ever-decreasing slices of pie… or you can straight up build a bigger pie.

I know which I prefer.

Badass of the Week

My badass of the week are the wonder-twins, Kamari and Kamera.

Some  ̶d̶i̶c̶k̶ concerned citizen got their lemonade stand shut down over “permit concerns”.

Refusing to be deterred, these little badasses GOT the permit, REOPENED the stand, and now have to contend with a WAIT because the demand is so high.

Don’t let the haters hold you back.

On Repeat This Week
Continuing the mellow mood… this song got me through a rough patch. Maybe it’ll do the same for you.

It’s Monday y’all… get out there and kick some ass.

Rock on,
Angie

“Breathe Me” by Sia
Ouch I have lost myself again
Lost myself and I am nowhere to be found
Yeah I think that I might break
Lost myself again and I feel unsafe
Be my friend, hold me
Wrap me up, enfold me
I am small and needy
Warm me up and breathe me
