Kick Monday’s Ass (KMA) – March 2, 2020

It’s time to kick Monday’s ass…

Welcome to the Kick Monday’s Ass weekly memo (not much better than “newsletter” but it’ll do while I hunt for something better).

It’s your big dose of “I got this” to help you start the week off strong.

First up…

Kick Monday’s Ass Video

This week we (and everyone else in the world) are talking about the Coronavirua.

In terms of reasons NOT to do something – a pandemic is a pretty valid one. But is that really what’s going on, or is the reason “not to” something that makes you feel safer? I dig into it in the video below – it’s about 4 minutes when you’ve got some spare time.

It’s almost Spring 2020 and people are on high alert because of the rapid spread of this new Coronavirus. So I wanted to take a moment and break down what it means for you and the big scary thing you’re trying to do (and also remind you to wash your hands LOL).
Badass of the Week

So last week we talked about a badass single mom who founded a haircare empire… even though she started with only $32 to her name.

This week we’re swinging to the other side of the spectrum and looking at how impostor syndrome affects even the most successful people you can imagine.

I stumbled across this article about Barbara Corcoran of Shark Tank fame. In it she revealed that even when she sold her real estate company for $66 MILLION, she still felt like a fraud. And to this I say… if she can feel like a fraud and still create a business that successful, so can you.

If you know of someone who should be featured as my Badass of the Week, hit reply and tell me about them. I’ll make sure you get credited!

Ask Angie

I’m starting up a new video/blog column called Ask Angie where you can submit your most pressing questions about building a business, marketing, making a plan to leave the job, dealing with impostor syndrome… whatever’s on your mind.

Feel free to pop on over and submit your questions here: https://permissiontokickass.com/talk-to-me/

On Repeat This Week
I don’t think it’s a secret that I’m a music nut, what with all the rock ‘n’ roll analogies (not to mention all my weird stage stories from my time with my rock band). Because it’s such a big part of my life (and because my ears ring in silence from too much time in front of amplifiers), I’ve pretty much always got tunes playing in the background.

This week, it’s Terry Reid. His song, “Seed of Memory” is super mellow and soulful – and the lyrics are pretty awesome. What gets me is the back end of the song, around minute 4, where he lets loose.

That’s the kind of soul that you really can’t think about – you have to feel it as you’re performing.

Take a gander below.

Happy Monday y’all… get out there and rock it.

Rock on,
Angie

Right about 4 minutes is where I get goosebumps every time.
