Kick Monday’s Ass: does that make me crazy? possibly…

It’s time to kick Monday’s ass…

Lately it’s been hard to come up with ideas and make myself sit still…
I’m in the middle of a big transition in my professional life, where I’m slowly disconnecting from things I’ve outgrown into new and exciting arenas I’m pumped to start exploring.
And of course with big changes comes big freak outs…
That brings us to this week’s video…

Kick Monday’s Ass: learning to swing the pendulum

You know when your brain is at its most creative? It’s usually when it’s imagining all kinds of worst possible case scenarios, in which immediately after you do the thing you’re nervous about, you either die horribly or the world as we know it ends.

Here’s how I harness that creativity and use it for good (and used right, this trick can help you get entrepreneurial anxiety under control).

Badass of the Week

I love it when kids have big ideas (and more importantly, have the love and support to bring those big ideas to life).

This week’s BATW is 12-year-old A’Jzala Johnson of Luling, Louisiana who loves to cook and loves being saucy… literally.

When the pandemic hit, she started playing around with creating different wing sauces… and eventually her secret recipe earned her a ton of fans, who helped spread the word. And BabyJay’s Wing Sauce was born.

You can read A’Jzala’s story here (she was on Good Morning America last week!).

On Repeat This Week…

So last week, Andrew and I were binge watching Umbrella Academy on Netflix. I’m a sucker for superheroes and apocalyptic stories.

I heard this song come up and it kept poking my brain, saying “this sounds really familiar!”

As soon as I realized which song it was, I was in love – it’s such a mellow rendition of “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley (which was already an old karaoke favorite of mine).

Hope you love it too…

PLUS: Whenever you’re ready… here are 3 ways I can help:

1) Need more Angie rants in your life? Sprinkle some snark on that S*&$ by following me on FacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

2) Want to get better at writing? I got together with 16 other badass industry-leading writers to talk about Writer’s Block, and how we collectively kick its ass. If you want to get good in a hurry, you’ve gotta get comfortable with churning out a ton of crap first. This guide shows you how.

3) Feeling blocked or stuck? Let’s get on the phone for 20 minutes, just you and me. We’ll solve some problems, toss out any head trash, and kick all kinds of ass. Book yours here today.

Real Talk: If you click a link in this email and choose to buy, I may get a tiny slice of the pie. I make these recommendations because 1) pie is delicious, especially when the pie is figurative and made of cash, 2) I have personally used or listened to or read everything I recommend in this email and know what it could do for you, and 3) I love imagining all the action takers out there devouring these kickass materials and progressing by leaps and bounds. Brings back happy memories of my own journey!

If you’re an aspiring freelancer who’s working up the courage to leave the day job… good news! I’m sharing all the things I WISH I’d known before making the leap so that hopefully your journey goes a little more smoothly than mine.
