a special anniversary: the day I got fired from a job I didn’t have

Today’s an interesting anniversary.
Four years ago today, I got fired from a job I didn’t even technically have.
I didn’t realize until that moment that after I left this job I’d been thinking, “oh well, if this freelance thing doesn’t work out, I can always go back.”
Then the safety net was taken away and I had to get serious about finding work or finding a job.
It was a blessing in disguise, though I definitely felt ALL the feels that day, and my former team and I drowned our shock with shots.
